Copyright Information
The formal stuff
- All content in, and
contributing to the look and feel of, this website is copyrighted and may
not be used or duplicated elsewhere unless with express and prior written
agreement unless stated. The names "Hepburnia" and "Rabid Rat
Productions" are protected trade names. Photographs are both
visibly & invisibly watermarked and
uniquely tagged and registered with a DAM (Digital Asset Management)
provider who routinely search for copyright contraventions across a variety of
media. English copyright law takes precedence.
The good news
- A limited free personal licence to use the photographic image files (photographs) available on this website is granted to all
UK resident private individuals for domestic non-profit non-commercial use
only. The terms of this licence are (but not limited to):
The photograph can only be displayed in electronic format on a personal computer owned by the individual and operated on private domestic premises
for non-commercial purposes.
The photograph may not be published, printed, edited, manipulated, or otherwise altered from its original form (maximum 800 pixels on the longest edge).
The photograph may not be used for or by any commercial, semi-commercial, or non-domestic organisation. This includes (but is not limited to) government, military, business, publishing, charity, religious, educational, or training organisations and establishments.
The photograph may not be redistributed by any means except via its original location & display on www.hepburnia.com.
Ownership, licensing
rights, and copyright remains with the photographer at all times and is not conveyed with this license.
This licence may be amended or revoked at any time without prior notice and on doing so you agree to comply or delete any or all photographs obtained and held under this licence (notice will be posted on this website).
In simple terms if you like
our photographs and would like to use them as a desktop background on your private computer at home for free this licence allows for that and nothing more. Although this use is free you are welcome to donate an amount of your choice via PayPal:
The bad news
(We Sue!) - Anyone contravening
our copyright will be deemed to have agreed to purchase a commercial licence pursuant to
our full terms and conditions by default. An invoice will be raised for the maximum market value of the breached material and payment requested. Legal action may commence to recover unpaid invoices, including damages, and costs incurred in such action. The discontinuance of breached copyright will not prevent the aforementioned course of action.
